I am updating simply as a temporal courtesy to those who may or may not be reading or checking this periodically, not because I have anything exciting to share.
My campus is still completely barricaded by angry students, though many speculate that this will soon all come to an end. People are pretty riled up, so I am hoping for some kind of action! We will see.
Because all of my classes are cancelled (except the language classes, which are being held off-campus in rooms that are decided upon each evening...how clandestine!) I have had A LOT of free time, which I have been enjoying.
Last week there was a colloque sur Agnès Varda for which I volunteered. Got into movies free, got to sit in on a number of presentations and got to listen to the woman herself speak. She is Glorious.
This week, I've been watching the films that weren't screened with my friend Line.
Yesterday: Le Bonheur
Today: Cléo de 5 à 7
Tomorrow: Le Glaneuse ? Maybe? Les Courts Metrages? Maybe
Went for a walk.
Saw and incredible sculpture in front of La Place de Pariment, a wave of books breaking out of the cobblestones, twenty-some feet high and easily ten feet wide. Real books, real stones. Very cool.
Reading some books.
Seeing some friends.
Bought some tickets to a theater and dance festival called Mettre en Scene...have only seen one so far and it was completely nul, cliché and dull...for eight euro a pop, my expectations are much higher... but I still have hopes for the other shows that I'm going to see.
One must always have hopes.
That is all
I am boring
